Here's ths story on Betsy, my newest Econoline...
John Robinson of Hot Springs, Ar., has been trying to save every Econoline he knows about from the crusher. He called me one day and says he has located a 67 Econoline that can be purchased for $???.??! Without seeing a picture I tell him I want it and we made arrangements to rescue the van.
The sellers were very reluctant to let Betsy go as shel moved them to Arkansas from California so many years ago. After relocating to Arkansas Betsy got Mr Marshall from one job to another as he was a painter. When he retired Mr Marshall parked Betsy in the yard and kept her up as good as he could. When he heard about John saving Econolines from the crusher he made the call.
John and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon, put some 'yard tires' on Betsy and winched her up on the trailer. Once we arrived at Johns house, where Betsy spent her last night in Hot Springs, we inspected her inside and out, over and under. Other than some rot around the battery box, there is zero rust-through!
This one is going to be for my wife!
